Proper Food Safety

Proper food safety is vital during pregnancy. This is one time you really need to avoid food poisoning and tummy upsets. If you should suffer from vomiting and diarhoea during pregnancy, there is a risk of becoming dehydrated, which could be risky for your baby. A young family also need to be kept safe from harm, so ensuring hygienic food handling from the very start of pregnancy, right through your family rearing years, is a valuable thing to practice.

So, what are the main food safety precedures?

Cleaning work surfaces and following up with a spray-on anti-bacterial cleanser is a good idea.

Keep raw meat, poultry, fish, cooked meat, vegetables and dairy products separate. Especially avoid allowing raw meat to contaminate other foods and work surfaces.
