Emu Oil for preventing stretch marks - and for great skin and hair

by Hilary @ pregnancy information guide

On a trip to New Zealand I was struggling with very dry skin on my hands and legs. Someone recommended Emu Oil and at first I thought this sounded rather strange but I bought some and tried it - wow! I brought some home and have used it ever since. And now I discover that it's great for stretch marks too, because it penetrates deeply into the middle layer of the skin, which many moisturisers just don't. It's used as a carrier oil for some of the best stretch mark creams but many women use it on its own and swear by it.

You can buy Emu Oil Pure Premium Australian - Powerful Skin and Hair Moisturizeronline from wherever you live. One piece of advice, though: don't buy the darker coloured emu oils. They may be cheaper but they aren't nearly as high quality as the pale oils and they aren't as effective in preventing and alleviating stretch marks. They can also develop a slightly 'off' aroma after a while, whereas this one has a really pleasant smell.

Emu oil's also a great general skin moisturizer and can be used as a hair conditioner too. Just massage the it into your scalp, leave for a little while and then shampoo as normal: your hair develops a brilliant shine! Or if you prefer, you can buy the Emu Oil Shampoo & Conditioner 8 oz Set It doesn't contain any SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) which is hard to escape from in hair products but is responsible for allergies and itchiness in many of us. I have been trying to avoid SLS for years and so I was really pleased to find this product.

Scientists Recommend Rose Hip Oil for Preventing Stretch Marks

by Lauren
(from Pregnancy Information Guide)

I read a newspaper clip about how Australian scientists had done a study on the best stretch mark creams and how the Trilogy Rose Hip Oil had come out on top. So I decided to try it. I bought it online through Amazon and I've used it right though my pregnancy. I love it! It feels and smells great and it leaves my skin smooth and silky, and no trace of any stretch marks! I now use it as an everyday moisturiser and it's supposed to have anti-aging properties too, reducing wrinkles by 21% - so I've no plans to stop using it - ever!

During the study, which was carried out by an independent Australian skin research lab, the rose hip oil was given 10 out of 10 for its ability to prevent stretch marks. It was used twice a day over a period of 8 weeks and was reckoned not just to stop tretch marks appearing (by a factor of 43%) but also to reduce scarring and existing marks.

Up until I found the Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil 20ml
I'd used Bio Oil, which I found pretty good too.
