35 Weeks Pregnant

8 months pregnant belly
At 35 weeks pregnant your baby is 32cm long and weights 2.5kg. The baby is fully formed with fat accumulating under the skin ready to regulate body temperature after birth.

Most of the major organs have developed and your baby is gaining weight ready for birth. The lungs are still developing but if your baby was born now there is an excellent chance of survival. The brain and nervous system are formed but if born now the reflexes would be slow.

Babies often lie head up until the last weeks of pregnancy and will turn just before they are due to be born. It is possible for your baby to be in the breech position all the way through your pregnancy and then turn.

About You

By now you will probably be really looking forward to the birth, albeit with some natural trepidation. The idea of going back to your pre-pregnancy body becomes quite appealling around now, as you get breathless whenever you exert yourself and have probably forgotten what your toes look like!

If you find that you need yet larger clothing but feel unwilling to spend a lot of money for such a short period, you might want to look for bargains in thrift shops or on Ebay.
